Lucie Laubová graduated from the Evangelical Academy Conservatory in Olomouc and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (under Professor Magdaléna Hajóssyová). She is the recipient of the 3rd prize at the International Competition Premio Internazionale di Canto Lirico (Fasano, Italy), as well as numerous other awards for her interpretation in both song and opera. Since her studies, she has been actively performing — in addition to solo and chamber projects, she has collaborated with the Academic Chamber Soloists at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, the Wranitzky Kapelle Orchestra in Prague, the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra in Olomouc, and the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra in Zlín. On the opera stage, she has performed as a guest artist at the State Theatre in Košice and the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec. In addition to European countries, she has also performed in the USA (concert as part of the exhibition “Favorite Songs and Arias of Czech Prima Donnas,” organized by the Metropolitan Opera in collaboration with the Czech Center New York).
After Cécile Boiffin finished her percussion studies in France (Conservatoire de Région de Boulogne-Billancourt) and in Germany (Musikhochschule Freiburg i.B.), she has become a member of the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice, where she has been performing since. She regularly appears as a chamber musician and a soloist, and she is active in various musical genres, including jazz, traditional African music, and folk music. She also composes for, including but not limited to, percussion instruments. During her studies in Freiburg, she discovered compositions that combine percussion with text, resonating with her original focus on literature, and began working with her own voice. In 2003, she founded the ensemble Cilijen with the actor Jan Sklenář, where she continues to explore the possibilities of merging spoken word with a wide range of percussion instruments.
